Hi everyone! This is a photo of one of the areas
ravaged by the tsunami in 2004. It was taken by
Stephen last year on his trip to Chennai. Thought you might all like to see some of the beauty India has to offer. We are all in for a wonderful adventure and time of growth. We can share this blog to keep our loved ones up on all that is happening. See you all soon! Love, Pam

Hey Guys,
Just a few more days for most of you until we embark on this new adventure!! For Pam and I it is only a matter of hours until we head out. We will be spending a few days in Hyderbad and then I will be going on to Chennai to visit the leper colony and see HOPE's work there. Hard for me to believe that I am actually going to India. My great grand parents and my grandmother were missionaries there right after WWI with the Far East relief helping rescue orphans after the war and relocate them with family members or find them homes. I grew up with stories of them and my father visiting leper colonies and serving the lepers. Hard to believe that I get this opportunty.
Thanks to all of you who have sacrificed to make it possible for all of us to go serve in India. I know that this will be a life changing experience for all of us. I have been praying for God to work in each of our lives and for us to be open to whatever He wants to accomplish and teach us during this time.
I'm Lin Beaty and will be your site leader on this trip. This is my second HYC that I've gotten to lead with the first one being to Africa. All of us who were on that trip still talk about it all the time and I'm sure that we'll do the same about India. I grew up in the mission field and love watching the impact that traveling and serving in these areas has on all of our lives. Sometimes it seems easier to actually "see" Jesus walking the streets of these countries when we see the poor, sick and hurting right under our feet. This is our chance to "walk like He did and be a taste of Jesus to India".
I've prayed for this trip and for all of our hearts, health and safety. Now it's time to get on to actually doing it. I love the anticipation but nothing like getting on with the adventure!
For family and friends, we'll do our best to keep this blog moving so that you can share the adventure.
See you in Bangalore!!Safe travels!
